BRIEF ABOUT NAVRUZ 

Navruz- the ancient Spring New Year holiday, a holiday of warmth and new life – is celebrated in Uzbekistan on March 21, on the day the spring equinox. Today Novruz is one of the major state holidays in Uzbekistan. The people thoroughly prepare for it beforehand: clean the streets, homes… and their hearts. With the day to come, they cook traditional Novruz dishes. They believe that the way they celebrate Novruz influences their lives through the whole year to follow. Hence, they try to have as much fun as possible on the holiday, organizing mass outdoor activities with songs, dances, fun games, various contests and competitions attracting very many spectators. The spring air seems to be saturated with people’s new hopes on Novruz.

 

 

Day 1: Arrival in Tashkent.18/03/2019
Arrive in Tashkent. Transfer from the airport to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Tashkent – Urgench – Khiva. 19/03/2019
Morning flight to KHIVA  (1000 km, 1 h. 45 min.). Arrive in Urgench. Drive to Khiva .Full day tour  in UNESCO World Heritage site Itchan-Kala Fortress, living museum under the open sky. Take a walking sightseeing tour in Khiva with a guide: visit Kunya-Ark Citadel, Tash-Khovli Palace, MukhammadAminkhan Madrasah, Mukhammad Rahimkhan Madrasah, Kalta-Minor, Juma Mosque, Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum, Minaret of Islam-Khoja. Free time in the afternoon. Dinner with folklore show.
Overnight in Khiva city.

Day 3: Khiva – Bukhara. (500km/ 7 hrs) 20/03/2019
In the morning depart Khiva and drive to Bukhara (480 km, 7-8 h.). On the way stop in village and explore life of local people. The Great Silk Road once routed through Bukhara and  Khiva run through the  Kyzyl -Kum  Desert, as the present road does nowadays. Stop en-route to enjoy views of Amu Darya River and the desert. Arrive in Bukhara late in the afternoon, check in to the hotel.  Time for rest .
Overnight in Bukhara  city.

 

Day 4: Bukhara. 21/03/2019
Full day  sightseeing tour with a guide in Old City. Visit Lyabi-Khauz Ensemble, Magoki-Attori Mosque, Chor-Minor Madrasah, trade domes, Kalyan Minaret, Kalyan Mosque and Miri-Arab Madrasah, UlugbekandAbdulazizkhan madrasahs, Ark Fortress, Bolo-Khauz Mosque, Ismail Samani and Chashma-Ayub mausoleums. Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa – summer residence of Bukhara’s last emir, unique site combining Oriental and Russian architecture. Continue to Bakhouddin Naqshbandi Mausoleum and Chor-Bakr Necropolis.
Overnight in Bukhara city.

Day 5: Bukhara – Samarkand (240 km / 4 hrs) 22/03/2019
Early breakfast in the hotel.
8:00 Transfer to Samarkand.(200km/3/4 hrs )
Stop on the way at Gijduvan ceramics museum to see  how to make handmade ceramics.
12:30 Arrival in Samarkand.
13:00 Lunch at Uzbek restaurant
Visit Imam Ismail Al-Bukhari Memorial Complex. Highly respected scientist of the Islamic world, mukhaddis (collector of sayings of prophet Mokhammed and stories about him) Imam Ismail Al-Bukhari was born in Bukhara in 810 and died in 870 in the village of Khartang and was buried at the same place (Chelak district of the present Samarkand province located 30 km from Samarkand). Since then the burial place has been one of the most sacred sites of worship for Muslims.

Kupkari shows with horses.In Uzbekistan the kupkari competition is also called an ulak. In this game skilled equestrians compete to carry a goat or sheep carcass into a goal.

Day 6: Samarkand – Tashkent (300km/2 hrs) 23/03/2019
08:00Early breakfast in the hotel.

09:00 Visit:

Saint Daniel Mazar – The only place in Central Asia where Muslim , Jewish, Christian people together consider as sacred place in their religion.

The mausoleum of Gur Emir, a burial place of Amir Temur and other princess of his family.

Registan Square, the heart of Samarkand consisting of Madrassa of Ulugbek, Madrassa Sher Dor and Tillya-Kori Madrassah.

Bibi Khanum Mosque, once the biggest mosque in Central Asia, it was erected by order of Tamerlane after his victorious Indian campaign in 1399.

Shakhi Zinda (Alive King ) Necropolis, a site of pilgrimage visited since the 11th century and marked by holiness. The mausoleum of Qusam Ibn Abbas the cousin of Prophet Muhammads (s.a.v) also in this NecropolisIt consists of about 20 mausoleums of different centuries built between 11th – 19thcenturies.Interesting magic and historical legends will be told by your guide.
13:00 Lunch.

Visit: Shopping at famous oriental Siyob bazzar – The biggest dry fruit market in Central Asia. This market provides all Central Asian and Former Soviet Union countries with dry fruits.You can find here more than 1000types of dry fruits.
Transfer to Railway station.

Take a high-speed train “Afrosiyob” to Tashkent at 17:00 – 19:00 (300km/2hrs)
Arrival to Tashkent and transfer to restaurant for Dinner. Check in.
Overnight in Tashkent city.


Day 7: Tashkent   24/03/2019
10:00 – Visit sacred places of Tashkent:
Ensemble of Hazret Imam.  Here you can see the oldest manuscript of Uzbekistan and famous Muslim heritage –Holy Koran Mushaf of Othman which also has the certificate of authenticity from UNESCO.
Kukeldash Madrasah, located on the square Chorsu, was built in the 16th century during the reign of the Sheibankhan dynasty. Now it is a college, where the basics of Islam are taught.
Chorsu Bazaar – The wholesale oriental bazaar where you can bargain till 50% of any product.
13:00 Lunch.

Museum of Applied arts , The museum of history, White Moaque.
Overnight in Tashkent city.

Day 8: Tashkent – Kokand – Fergana    25/03/2019
Breakfast at hotel
08.05 Take a train to Kokand.(4hrs 02 minutes). Arrival at 12:07 and start city tour of city.
Visit : Khudoyorkhan Palace, Jome Mosque, Norbut biy Madrassah.Lunch.
After lunch drive to Oq yer village to see the traditional Kygz Family manufacturing wool carpets.
Drive to Fergana city – Visit Akhmad Al Ferganiy Park . Transfer to hotel.
Dinner at restaurant.
Overnight in Fergana city.

Day 9: Fergana – Margilon – Tashkent .  26/03/2019
Breakfast at hotel.
Drive to Margilan Visit : Said Akhmad Khodja Madrassah the madrassah hujras (class rooms)are now replaced with small shops off ceramic woks and silk carpets and woolen scarves and traditional magnets and handmade antique souvenirs. Drive to Yodgorlik – Silk Factory to see the production of process of  silk  with Ikat patterns. Visit  Kumtepa – Bazaar the biggest wholesale market in Fergana .
Take a train to Tashkent at 16:05. Arrival to Tashkent at 20:45.
Dinner and transfer to hotel.
Overnight in Tashkent city.

Day 10: Tashkent – Charwak – Tashkent .  27/03/2019

07.00-09.00 Enjoy buffet breakfast at your hotel’s coffee shop.

Fresh up for mind after intersesting lectures about legenday cities.

09.00 Chimgan Mountains and later to CharvakLake – Chimgan is the most popular ski resort of Uzbekistan, located 80 km from Tashkent on slopes of Chimgan Mountains which are the part of Chatkal range of western Tian-Shan.

11.30 Ride on chairlift (cable car 2870 m above the sea level/ Optional Soviet Union time cable car)

14.00 Lunch in garden and prepearing barbeque picnic. Drive to Charvak Lake-Lake Charvak Lake is a popular resort in Tashkent region and thousands of holiday makers from all over Uzbekistan and neighboring countries visit the reservoir.

Enjoy free time at Beautiful Charvak Lake.

17.00 Evening back to Tashkent.

20.30 Farewell Dinner at Uzbek Traditional Restaurant with belly dance show.

Overnight in Tashkent city.
Day 11: Tashkent – Departure .   28/03/2019
Check-out from the hotel. Transfer to Tashkent International Airport.  Departure.
